Student: Pheromone, Student in Music Theory III
The OMC (OnMusic Companion) website has been a great tool during this semester. It is easy to navigate with topics and subtopics listed. The music lectures were pretty straightforward, and it is helpful that written and auditory examples are given to appease various types of learners. I really liked the fact that the homework assignments gave a review of what you did after you're done so you would know what needs work and what doesn't.
Student: Charis
Personally, I really like OMC more than other websites used for student learning. The way that the program is designed for easy use, and how you can set the test differently compared to Moodle. Plus, everything is easily accessible.
Student: Jordan
The OMC platform was a pretty easy and accessible site to utilize and I think it served its function well. I honestly prefer using online music texts compared to physical, so the navigation, audio and visual examples provided made the platform more engaging to me. Compared to other similar platforms I used, I think the quiz feature is a pretty good plus compared to others, as it made it easier to compare content with quizzes taken. Along with this, having the text divided up into the weeks they fall under were also a great plus!
Student: Turqoise, Student in Music theory III
For a first-time user of C4E Compannion, my overall opinion is rather positive. The platform is simple and straightforward to maneuver and the music lessons are engaging. However, my only challenge was when it came to submitting an answer for an assessment, the system was very precise not leaving any room for a margin of error. Overall, the platform is user friendly. --Turqoise

I liked the OMC platform; it was very easy to use. The feature that allows you to track your progress is great, and each music lesson had a lot of audio examples that I enjoyed listening to. The content was not boring, in fact it was rather interesting. Sometimes the quizzes would shake on the screen, but overall, the experience was exciting and enjoyable. However, I would've liked if you can track how many questions you've completed without clicking the tab, like if it was already on the screen without bothering the quiz content.

My experience with the OMC site was a good one, I do not have any negative thoughts on it. It was easy to navigate. This site also helped me stay organized and on top of what was coming up and its due date. If I were to compare the site to any traditional textbook, I would rate this site a 10/10 simply because I love the online music texts because I can read about the different topics, see pictures listen to the music that they create, and then answer the 10 questions that are asked. Also, I love how the information is straight to the point and some topics are broken into 2 parts therefore it’s either Quiz 1 or Quiz 2 really appreciate that. The content of each topic was very engaging. It showed images of the musical instruments and some dances they do. I feel like this helped my organization and my grades to be on point because it wasn’t too much information, it was just right. As I end this Music class for the semester, I would encourage teachers to use this site for better time management, organization, grades, visuals and many many more reasons why.

The OMC site was an easy to use and the music e-book for our class assignment was a game-changer. The user friendly site made it a breeze to navigate through chapters. This e-book significantly enhanced my learning experience, allowing me to listen to the book when I no longer had the energy to read which I prefer over a traditional text book. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience using this platform and enjoyed the material I learned through this platform.
Student: Manleah
Using the OMC site for the music course was very interesting to say the least. I feel as though with regular textbooks we tend to get lost, and with this site it made me feel more engaged in what I was reading by providing examples and allowing me to find all the information I need with just the press of a button. The quiz set up I would say was overall okay, however having to press the “check” button after every answer became frustrating at times. Overall the listening aspect while reading would be my favorite with the site as well as being able to access my notes in one place.
Student: De' Shann
My student experience using OMC was great. The site was well organized and very easy to navigate, and it was also accessible on my mobile smart phone. Thankfully, this allowed me to find specific online music readings and quizzes without getting confused. I was also able to complete given online assignments during periods when I had no access to my laptop.
Student: Eyvonne
OMC for online music courses is a one-stop shop, everything is convenient and within reach. The content provided by the platform Omc was captivating and attainable simultaneously. The listening examples were clear.

Incredible Amount of Information, Willow Bui
Lu Peng was a great piano teacher who had an incredible amount of information that I wouldn't have ever thought of. I really appreciate how she taught it as well, it made the time pass incredibly quickly as every moment was filled with information and knowledge.
Guitar Student: TW
This past semester I had the opportunity to be Jonathan Trotta’s guitar student and I feel like I learned so much from him! He really knows how to bring out the inner musician within his student even more, from technique, to different approaches within the piece itself, learning how to let the inner harmony really sing and much more! He is an amazing teacher and I highly recommend him!
Voice Student: Maryna
I am a voice student taking lessons with Dina. She is a professional in her field. She gives bits of advice that instantly help correct mistakes in singing. Also, she is a nice person. I am happy that found such a good mentor.
Voice Student: Dasha
This voice mentor is very fun, energetic, and is willing to teach you so much even in 30 minutes. She is the most fun and useful mentor I've had. She sings very well herself and is a very creative person. She does not waste a single minute and gives good advice. I 100% recommend this mentor. Don't miss out and book your lessons!
Kind and Understanding, Carissa
YooRi is a kind and understanding mentor, and strikes a balance between pushing me and being empathetic to my character.
Violin Student: Angela
I learned so much from my violin mentor. I highly recommend him.
Excellent Double Bass Mentor, Clayton
Jesse is excellent Double Bass mentor. He never gave a complete answer to any question. Instead, he'd give me a little information and then we'd talk about it. By the end of the conversation, my question would be answered along with much more information.
Piano Student: Joanna
There are many piano teachers but few really know how to teach. Thank you Yoo Ri for being an outstanding teacher by first understanding the student's struggles and then providing valuable techniques effectively. I am so blessed to have you as a mentor as you have helped me with so many different challenging struggles in playing the piano. For that reason, I do plan on continuing to learn. Thank you.
Piano Student: Yun

A Great Mentor
I have had a few online double bass sessions with Matt Robinson and he has been very helpful every time. I like his teaching style and I definitely have benefitted from our previous sessions.
Jazz Voice Student: Christine
Masterclass
I am currently taking jazz voice lessons with Dr. LaPierre, and I also had the privilege of studying with him at ARC before his retirement. He has lifetimes of knowledge and experience-- he focuses not only on vocal skills but musicianship as a whole. Lessons with him are a great balance between technique, foundations, and style. He has a way of tapping into that potential you might not realize you have. I have already grown as a vocalist more than I thought possible because of him, highly recommend 🙂
Voice Student: EMBLY
One word--AMAZING!
I met with Vera several times for online voice lessons and she is in one word--AMAZING! Even though we have met via Zoom or FaceTime, she has perfect pitch therefore, she hears when I hit the wrong note. I also appreciate her suggestions. For example, writing out the count on challenging rhythms and the additional accidental sharps in a measure. She also suggested not using the sustain pedal during Invention 1 by Bach since it is a Baroque piece where harpsichords were only available. Again, AMAZING! Yun
Understands Her Students, Lizette
I really appreciate how Yoo Ri really understands her students and the way she teaches is so natural. She has helped me a lot to understand my own colors. she helped developed more on my voice. She is always supportive and encouraging. What i also like about my mentor is her honesty and positivity.
