Professor Paulson is a great voice teacher. He shows you exactly what you need to know. He is very knowledgeable in what he is teaching. He is very patient and understanding. He not only tells you to do something he also does it. If you want to be a better singer he is the person you should trust. He will show you exactly what to do. From things like opening your mouth a certain way to pronounce the words a certain way. He will give you everything you need to know to be a good singer.

He has lifetimes of knowledge and experience-- he focuses not only on vocal skills but musicianship as a whole. Lessons with him are a great balance between technique, foundations, and style. He has a way of tapping into that potential you might not realize you have. I have already grown as a vocalist more than I thought possible because of him, highly recommend 🙂
Excellent Structure & Performance
This applied course is much more involved than a similar one I took at another college. The regular discussions help give it the structure of a real class, rather than feeling like I’m just playing independently with no interaction or performance expectations. At first, I mistakenly assumed it would be like the other course, but once I understood the format, I realized how thoughtfully it’s designed. That structure has really set me up for success.
